Tasting Notes

On the day of the Kennedy assassination, an unhappily married man hatches a thirteen year plan to make half a million dollars playing blackjack, create a new identity, and escape his life.

Just when you think you’re at the denouement, the story takes a strange turn when his plane is hijacked… leading to a (small) twist ending that comes off as belonging to another movie entirely. Presumably the book ties it together a bit better.

Oh, that Janssen mumble. At times he sounds so stoned it’s a wonder he doesn’t pass out on screen.
